the arrival
In the film "Arrival", one character asks,
"If you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things?"
The reply,“…maybe I'd say what I feel more often. I…I don't know."
When my wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer (while a close family friend entered palliative care with the same disease), those words took on new meaning. I'd spent too much of my life looking towards some future arrival. This work is about discovering that the journey itself is precious, not the destination.
I want to hold on to the beauty that can make every moment an arrival.
