Affinity. Closeness. Longing for connection. These shared experiences are what elevate our lives beyond mere existence. Good or bad, they are the muse for poetry, the rhythm of music, and the ‘heart’ in our heart. This body of work is about exploring just that: our humanity seen through how we connect with something outside ourselves. That moment when we bare our souls and open our hearts.

What makes a home or a community? The people, shared interests, the neighbourhood?
On a recent visit to Shanghai I wandered around an area being demolished to make way for new high-rise apartments. Buildings were left in various states of demolition, remnants of life still evident amongst graffiti, and even people still living in some areas.
An eerie beauty presided over the buildings left behind. Perhaps this was due to the infused memories of life, love and the dramas that they have seen.
The entries for the Colour Awards come from 79 countries across the globe so as they say at the Oscars, "its an honour to be nominated." I'm excited to share that I received 7 nominations across 4 categories, the details are below. Its always difficult to predict what the judges are looking for so the selection of what to enter is sometimes half the battle.
What better way to spend a steamy night in Singapore than wandering Chinatown enjoying the colour, shopping and food! Our recent shoot with models Nadia and Greg captured a bit of that fun and I can vouch that the drinks and food weren’t bad either.
Here are some pics of my recent lifestyle shoot at Scotland Island, what a gorgeous setting.Read More
Come dive with me into the warm Pacific. It is so beautiful starting the day with a salt water champagne bath this time of year. A weekend morning swim, followed up by breakfast at the beach makes me smile for the rest of the day!

Thirty years! Angela and I celebrated our anniversary recently at the lovely Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral. The atmosphere on a warm summer night was the perfect backdrop for a special evening with my sweetheart. We both love the casual elegance of Bathers and needless to say, the food as well. Serge and his team are behind one of Sydney’s gems!
Now I just need to convince them to let us have the upstairs as our studio and apartment!
One of the best perks of living in Sydney is going to a beach in the morning for a swim and then breakfast. The Boat House in Balmoral is a fave. A sister restaurant to one in Palm Beach, and soon to be Shelley Beach; it celebrates the summer lifestyle with fresh produce, coffee and an interesting menu. You will know we are there if you see Samson, our Golden Retriever tied up out the front!
How amazing does it feel to swim in the ocean in the morning?! The sun streaming in, the water feeling like it is rejuvenating our every molecule! It leaves me smiling all day long! These pictures were taken early morning at Bronte recently. On a day like today, I'm plotting when I can next slip under the waves.
As I started to walk through a lane-way in Old Shanghai, I couldn't help myself but to turn a corner and follow the path of a different one. Should I go up a staircase and find a colourful mystery awaiting me? Turn the corner and see people just living their everyday life. Watch my head as I have to duck under the very low overhanging awnings. I wonder what stories are being told here today?
On my recent trip to Hong Kong, I stayed in Kowloon with some colleagues from Creative Asia Plus. I think I scored the pick of the rooms with a view of the sunrise out one window and the pool the other. [wpvideo rfXiTnnh]
I also got an insight to the shanty town that existed on top of the nearby buildings. That's what I love about Hong Kong: the mix of super-modern and very basic existence. On one block, you might see several stores selling Rolex's and not to far away a street market that looks not to different to what you might have seen last century.
Sometimes jobs don't feel like jobs. I guess the frequency of that indicates you are in the right profession! Last week I had the pleasure of shooting for the cover of Amy Dickson’s new album of Australian saxophone concertos, to be released by ABC Classics in May 2015. It was a particular pleasure, as I photographed her for her first album several years ago.
Amy is a London-based Australian classical saxophone player, awarded in 2013 with the #1 ranking in the UK classical charts. She and her music are the same; beautiful, real, and a joy to know.
Meet Samson, 11 years old, the best friend you could ask for. He is the most gentle companion who loves nothing more than being at your side. He gives far more love than you could imagine, and in the words of that wise person called Anonymous: "I aspire to be the person that my dog thinks I am."
If you ever make it down to the studio, he will be panting at the back door waiting to say hello.

There is nothing like a crisp sunny morning swim to get the day started. I went for a quick one Sunday morning in the warm water of Manly. At 7am there you will find a multitude of people all wearing bright pink caps, preparing themselves to dive head first into crystal clear water for a 1.5km swim. What started as an informal activity between a group of friends, has now turned into hundreds of people every day. The group, know as the 'Bold & Beautiful' leave from Manly Beach and swim over to Shelly Beach. The wonderful thing about this group is the camaraderie that they share. They wait at Shelly Beach until the last swimmer has arrived before embarking on the return trip.
So I'm thinking I should get a pink swimming cap on and join in... Will I see you there?
