CONNECTIONS BLOG

CONNECTIONS
Affinity. Closeness. Longing for connection. These shared experiences are what elevate our lives beyond mere existence. Good or bad, they are the muse for poetry, the rhythm of music, and the ‘heart’ in our heart. This body of work is about exploring just that: our humanity seen through how we connect with something outside ourselves. That moment when we bare our souls and open our hearts.

What makes a (Shanghai) home?

What makes a home or a community? The people, shared interests, the neighbourhood?

On a recent visit to Shanghai I wandered around an area being demolished to make way for new high-rise apartments. Buildings were left in various states of demolition, remnants of life still evident amongst graffiti, and even people still living in some areas.

An eerie beauty presided over the buildings left behind. Perhaps this was due to the infused memories of life, love and the dramas that they have seen.

Homocystinuria

Just the other week, I had the privilege to do a shoot for HCU Network Australia for their upcoming website release. HCU Network Australia is a recently established not-for-profit organisation dedicated to increasing awareness and research funds for a degenerative rare disease known as Homocystinuria (HCU).

Another reminder to hug the kids, the wife and the dog, count all our blessings, and do what we can to make someone else's journey a bit easier.

Uniting Care

Uniting Care

Awhile ago we were fortunate to work with some of the great people from Uniting Care Burnside Services. It was a very humbling experience watching the difference they were making in people's lives in support of parents and their children. Due to the sensitivity of the services we can't show many of the photos, but lets just say I'm  very thankful there are people and organizations supporting those in need! I count my blessings and can't hug my kids enough!
